I tried adding keys and got:

Code: Select all

sudo slapt-get --add-keys

slapt-get --clean didn't raise any errors.

slapt-get -u gives me:

Must be a connection issue. slapt-get --add-keys worked for me right away.
Huge update, by the way. 600+ packages needed upgrading, and the system was up-to-date a few days ago.

Indeed. According to Patrick Volkerding in the ChangeLog for Slackware-current on Thu Apr 19 01:04:06 UTC 2018 there have been "the longest ChangeLog entry in project (Slackware) history".

As an aside folks running a full Slackware-current system got at least 1263 updates ;)

Finally managed to download and install all updates. You're right that it's just an unreliable sourceforge connection, or perhaps they have restrictions when the traffic volume gets high.

I have an issue upgrading aaa_base again.

Initially I forgot about this post and did a collective:

Code: Select all

sudo slapt-get -i aaa_base glibc glibc-i18n glibc-zoneinfo kernel-firmware kernel-headers kernel-huge kernel-modules kernel-source...

1/9 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ aaa_base 14.2-x86_64-5 [12.0kB]...Done
2/9 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ glibc 2.27-x86_64-4 [5.2MB]...Done
3/9 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ glibc-i18n 2.27-x86_64-4 [6.9MB]...Done
4/9 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ glibc-zoneinfo 2018e-noarch-3 [192.0kB]...Done
5/9 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ kernel-firmware 20180606_d114732-noarch-1 [71.5MB]...Done

Preparing to replace glibc-2.27-x86_64-3 with glibc-2.27-x86_64-4
Failed to execute command: [/sbin/spkg -u --reinstall /var/slapt-get/./slackware64/l/glibc-2.27-x86_64-4.txz]
Then I recalled this thread, and did a :

Code: Select all

$ sudo slapt-get -i -d --reinstall aaa_base
Reading Package Lists...Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  aaa_base
0 upgraded, 0 reinstalled, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove, 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 12.0kB of archives.
1/1 Get http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/ aaa_base 14.2-x86_64-5 [12.0kB]...Done
No problem downloading the package.

However, when I then tried to install it, I got:

Code: Select all

$ sudo /bin/bash upgradepkg --reinstall /var/slapt-get/slackware64/a/aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5.txz

Error: there is no installed package named aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5.
       (looking for /var/lib/pkgtools/packages/aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5)
It's looking in a different location - has there been some changing of directory locations, such that some symlinking is required?

I searched in /var/lib/pkgtools/packages/ for the aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5 package and instead found a package named:

Code: Select all

aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5-upgraded-2018-06-27,02:13:12
Is this a messed up updated package from my initial collective slapt-get -i ?

Would appreciate any help.

Will be leaving my PC for a few hours, but I won't shut it down pending resolution of this issue.

Try this.

Code: Select all

sudo /bin/bash installpkg /var/slapt-get/slackware64/a/aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5.txz
sudo /bin/bash removepkg /var/log/packages/aaa_base-14.2-x86_64-5-upgraded-2018-06-27,02:13:12
