How to upgrade slackel-kde-4.14.21 to latest

To do it, follow these steps. (Do not use sudo.)
1. Become root

Code: Select all

su
First update database cache. Run in a terminal using slapt-get

Code: Select all

slapt-get -u
Second First update these packages

Code: Select all

slapt-get -i aaa_elflibs slapt-get gslapt mlocate 
Then update the rest system

Code: Select all

slapt-get --upgrade
Upgrade glibc glibc-i18n glibc-profile

Code: Select all

slapt-get -i glibc glibc-i18n glibc-profile
Upgrade kernel packages

Code: Select all

slapt-get -i kernel-firmware kernel-headers kernel-huge kernel-modules kernel-source
Do not forget to run update-grub before reboot

Code: Select all

update-grub
Otherwise system will become uncountable.

Remove slocate package

Code: Select all

spkg -d slocate
Move new updatedb.conf over old one

Code: Select all

mv /etc/updatedb.conf.new /etc/updatedb.conf
Note: Sometimes is better to go to init 1 and form there updgrade glibc which is always working and not break the system.
