I have a problem with gdm in 32bit and 64bit installation in vmware. After upgraded the system to latest gdm cannot login on X and returns back to login screen in init 4 level.
If i go to init 3 and run startx then gdm login on X.

This problem is not appearing in Slackel 64 bit hard-disk installation which is my system.
So i have build lxdm to use in init 4 instead of gdm Read this post
Anyone can help is welcome.

gdm is ok on this machine with init 4:
$ uname -a
Linux darkstar 4.14.44 #1 Fri May 25 15:49:37 CDT 2018 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Oh, sorry, should note this is installed, not vmware
