Re: wicd stopped working
The wicd project doesn't seem active indeed. Last release was at 2016, but that alone doesn't make it deprecated. However, I see unanswered bug reports in wicd's website too. The project seems to be dormant at best. I used Wicd for more than 10 years, even before I migrated to Slackel and Salix. It ...

[SOLVED] wicd stopped working
Since 21 July, wicd stopped working: pap[~]$ wicd Traceback (most recent all last): File "/usr/share/wicd/daemon/wicd-daemon.py", line 48, in <module> import dbus ImportError: No module named dbus Now, my educated guess is that dbus-python was upgraded on 21 July, and the new version is no...

Re: pango upgraded
It was probably a temporary repository problem. I updated my systems a few hours later than bsd4me, I noticed pango was updated, but no issues at all.

Re: [SOLVED] alsa-lib hdmi problem
I didn't update yesterday so I didn't have the bugged version. Today the repos are updated to the dj version of alsa-lib, and pavucotrol does see the HDMI port.. Thank you Dimitri!

Re: Memories - fosscomm - Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting
Nice to see how it all started. Thank you for sharing, Dimitri.
I will definitely attend FOSSCOMM 2021.
P.S.: I like the old "snail shell" logo, but I am used to the "sigma" logo anyway.

Re: [Solved] Turn off screen blanking
For users might have this problem with elogind and suspend. Did you put these to /etc/elogind/logind.conf to stop suspended after few secs ? HandleSuspendKey=ignore HandleLidSwitch=ignore Try setting both and then try setting just one of them to figure out which one it is causing the problem or bot...

Re: [Solved] Turn off screen blanking
I tried it. I had to create a ~/.profile because it doesn't exist (not only in that 32-bit installation, but in all my Slackels there is no ~./profile). It does indeed prevent screen blanking after some minutes without user activity, but does not stop elogind from constantly suspending the computer ...

Re: [Solved] Segmentation fault during slapt-get -u
Solved. I looked up at Slackware-Current change logs before posting here, but it wasn't clear icu4c was the problem.
Thank you Dimitri!
